Men’s desires can be natural or unnatural. Two men found their ‘true love’, paid for through cunningly deceitful ways; men linked by blood, men whose desires are both natural and unnatural.
Lakunle and Pa. Babatunde both want what every man naturally wants—the love of a woman, a wife. These two comic men reflect the desire of the young and the old, and their common passion leads to their comical rivalry. The power to grant their desires lies with another man, or they think so. Pa. Owode’s intrusion into their lives is supposed to be a blessing since he claims to have the power to give them what they desperately want—a wife.
There is a fox in the house, a costly one that young Lakunle and old Pa. Babatunde would soon discover it late. This fox did not just want their money but also their blood, which the two fools gladly obliged in their ‘noble course’ to get married.
